portland post from marianne

Marianne from the Edmonton blog Loosen Your Belt has a fabulous eating itinerary for an upcoming trip to Portland.  We were there four years ago, and loved their ‘Keep Portland Weird’ sentiment – it is a funky, eco-friendly city with lots of eclectic good eats.

My favourite memories were arriving at the the downtown farmer’s market at the crack of dawn while the vendors were setting up,  browsing the massive and wonderful Powell Books, well-worth-the-wait brunch at Mother’s Bistro and exploring the Mississipi area of town for a memorable lunch at Gravy.

Further afield, Cannon Beach was a pretty artisan village, and we had an unexpected and unforgettable experience at the Oregon Country Fair.

  1. Thanks for the shout out and the recommendations, Su! We can’t wait. And we’ve managed to swing a few days in Seattle on the way back, so I’m utilizing all your Salumi tips!
